Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
Epitome Research and Innovations Inc. (ERI) is a federal contractor that pursues R&D (e.g., SBIR, STTR) proposals and projects that primarily focus on challenging problems in engineering and healthcare. ERI has a penchant to leverage concepts in engineering, life sciences, bio photonics, software engineering, cloud technologies, and AI among others to develop innovative solutions.
Computer-Aided Engineering Multiphysics Software
Due to interactions between more than one physics, multiphysics problems such as those encountered in mechanical, aerospace, and biomedical engineering domains tend to be extremely challenging to simulate. ERI has a strong interest in pursuing R&D projects in multiphysics.
Healthcare
Based on some alarming statistics published by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 6 in 10 adults in the US have a chronic disease. 4 in 10 adults in the US have two or more. Hearty disease, cancer, chronic lung disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Diabetes, and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are the leading causes of death and disability and leading drivers of the nation’s $3.8 Trillion in Annual Health Care Costs [https://www.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/pdf/infographics/chronic-disease-H.pdf].
ERI’s focus is on the development of computational tools and methods that can potentially assist researchers and clinicians in the detection and diagnosis of chronic conditions as well as optimization of treatment plans. ERI would like to leverage concepts in engineering, software development, biomedical sciences, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence to achieve these goals. Of special interest to ERI are autoimmune conditions in dermatology, rheumatology, and gastroenterology including and not limited to Psoriasis, Lupus, Vitiligo, Psoriatic Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis, and Crohn’s Disease.
